My experience includes business planning, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow analysis, purchasing and inventory controls, payroll administration, system building, and process analysis. I have worked with business technology, accounting systems, and the movement of information between applications to improve business operations and information management.

I have assisted businesses with federal, state, and local administrative requirements involving business formation, registration, financing, and organizational structure, including nonprofit organizations. My consulting includes helping owners understand business structures, accounting requirements, and the processes involved in establishing, reorganizing, or transitioning their operations. I am familiar with business tax classifications, financial reporting requirements, and the relationship between accounting records and tax returns. I can review existing tax documents, explain how financial information is presented, and help clients identify questions for their tax professionals to improve bookkeeping and tax reporting efficiency. Business owners retain control of their decisions and filings, while qualified tax professionals provide tax advice and determine the appropriate tax treatment.

My father was a CPA in Lansing, Michigan, and both my parents owned their own businesses; I have spent my working life around small-business owners, operations, and books. I have witnessed businesses experience rapid growth and substantial profitability, as well as financial deterioration and eventual failure. These experiences have given me a firsthand understanding of the operational and financial realities facing small businesses.

My recent 13 years at BHI Bookkeeping, Payroll & Income Tax in Las Vegas, Nevada, have given me firsthand experience with the rapid pace of business in an ever-changing economic and regulatory environment. I worked through the COVID-19 pandemic, shifting business conditions, evolving government requirements, and even retroactive changes that complicated financial planning and business operations. These experiences reinforced the importance of staying informed, recognizing developing trends, and anticipating changes wherever possible. I make an effort to stay ahead of the news cycle while remaining grounded in traditional, time-tested business principles that, when applied consistently, produce results.

My exploration of artificial intelligence began in 2021 with AI-generated art, followed by ChatGPT in December 2022, shortly after its public release. Since then, I have applied AI to research, information organization, problem-solving, creative projects, and website development. This website was written and developed with the assistance of artificial intelligence.
